Synopsis: “Bar El Chino”

Argentine Director Daniel Burak, who won the Best First Film Award at the 2004 Argentine Film Critics Association Awards, shares that “Bar El Chino” is a rundown bar where the essence of friendship and Tango is still alive. Friends create an enormous symbolization for Jorge Garces, also known as “El Chino” (The Chinese). They are like his family. Just like immigrants have to “create” a new family of their own when they emigrate abroad. For Jorge (same name), a filmmaker, “Bar El Chino” is a special place, so special that he meets Martina. Together, they will explore and navigate the passion of documenting the spirit of Tango, as well as deal with the struggle most professionals go through when they have to decide to emigrate abroad. The unexpected changes of life will mark their destinies and their love. Starring Boy Olmi and Jimena De La Torre.
